中心依托上海海事大學組建而成，突出高校技術研發(fā)與人才培養(yǎng)優(yōu)勢，服務國家海洋戰(zhàn)略和上海經(jīng)濟建設。針對深海油氣鉆采關鍵部件與裝備和極地環(huán)境低溫鋼的研發(fā)需求，聚焦產(chǎn)業(yè)化工程方向，為深遠海與極地資源開發(fā)裝備提供高性能材料、制定技術標準，并為相關企業(yè)提供技術服務，解決本領域的“卡脖子”技術。

The center aims to cultivate talents with the advantages from SMU, to serve the national ocean strategy and Shanghai's economic construction.For the research and development of key materials in the areas of deep-sea oil, and low-temperature steel in polar environment, the center focuses on the industrialization engineering direction, provides high-performance materials and technical standards for far-reaching sea and polar resource development equipment, and provides technical services for relevant enterprises.
