摘要：Modelingdynamic transportation networks, also called Dynamic Traffic Assignment (DTA),is one of the most challenging problems in transportation science. Extensiveresearch has been done in the past on modeling/solving DTA problems, mainly inthe discrete-time domain. This talk concerns about modeling and solving DTA inthe continuous-time domain, for the two classical DTA problems: Dynamic UserEquilibrium and Dynamic System Optimum. Applications of DTA will also bepresented, including evacuation modeling, network emission modeling andcontrol. Impact of new technologies such as connected and automated vehicles ondynamic network modeling will also be briefly discussed.

報告人簡介

Dr.Xuegang (Jeff) Ban is an Associate Professor of the Civil and EnvironmentalEngineering Department of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). He receivedhis B.S. and M.S. in Automobile Engineering from Tsinghua University, and hisM.S. in Computer Sciences and Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from theUniversity of Wisconsin at Madison. His research interests are inTransportation Network System Modeling and Simulation, Urban Traffic Modelingand Control, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and Transportation BigData Analytics. He has published nearly 50 papers in refereed journals or asbook chapters, and more than 40 papers in refereed conference proceedings. Dr.Ban is an Associate Editor of Journal ofIntelligent Transportation Systems, Networks and Spatial Economics, and Transportmetrica B, and serves on the editorialboard of Transportation Research, Part B& Part C. He is a member of the Network Modeling Committee (ADB30) anda member of the Vehicle-Highway Automation Committee (AHB30) of theTransportation Research Board (TRB), under the National Academies. He alsoserved as the Elected Vice Chair (2010-2011) and Chair (2012-2013) of the ITSSIG (cluster) under the Transportation Science and Logistics (TSL) Society ofINFORMS. Dr. Ban received the 2011 CAREER Award from the National ScienceFoundation (NSF), the New Faculty Award from the Council of UniversityTransportation Centers (CUTC) and the American Road & TransportationBuilders Association (ARTBA) in 2012, and the School of Engineering ResearchExcellence Award (for Junior Faculty) from RPI in 2014.
