摘要：Publishing your research results in apeer-reviewed journal is an essential activity of a researcher. It is a directreflection of the quality of your research work and it allows you to networkwith other scholars in helping you further refine and develop your research.The goal of this presentation is to provide research postgraduate students orjunior researchers with background information on academic publishing,highlight the important steps you need to follow to prepare your manuscript forpublication, and offer suggestions about how to work with editors and refereesto get published. As an experienced author, reviewer and journal editor, thespeaker will also share with the audience on some common issues in research andpublications, such as the current trend in journal publishing, journal metrics,publication ethics and responsibility.?

Hai Yang Biography (2 May 2015)

Prof. Hai Yang is currently a Chair Professor at The Hong KongUniversity of Science and Technology. He is internationally known as an activescholar in the field of transportation, with more than 190 papers published inSCI/SSCI indexed journals and an H-index citation rate of 38. Most of hispublications appeared in leading international journals, such as TransportationResearch, Transportation Science and Operations Research. Prof. Yang received anumber of national and international awards, including National Natural ScienceAward bestowed by the State Council of PR China (2011). He was appointed asChang Jiang Chair Professor of the Ministry of Education of PR China. Prof.Yang is now the Editor-in-Chief of Transportation Research Part B:Methodological, a top journal in the field of transportation.

楊海教授簡歷 (2014年6月23日)

楊海博士現任香港科技大學土木環境工程系講座教授 (Chair Professor)、博士生導師。楊海教授1985年畢業于武漢水利電力大學(現武漢大學)水利建筑工程系，1985年以優異成績考取國家教委公派出國留學生。1989及1992年獲得日本京都大學交通運輸工程系碩士和博士學位，曾經在美國加州大學和加拿大滑鐵盧大學從事博士后研究工作。1993年應聘來香港科技大學任教、工作至今。

楊海教授是國際交通運輸領域的知名學者，在交通運輸系統分析、建模與優化前沿工作二十余年、成果顯著。有180余篇論文被SCI/SSCI檢索，其中大多數發表在國際頂級期刊Transportation Research, Transportation Science 及 Operations Research 上。其論文被引用4500余次，H指數值37，各項數據均在國際交通運輸學界名列前茅。所獲榮譽包括：1991年日本土木工程師協會杰出論文獎、杰出海外青年研究員獎（2004年中國國家自然科學基金委員會授予）、國家自然科學獎（2011年中華人民共和國國務院授予）、香港科技大學工程學院研究杰出獎（2012年）。

楊海教授現任北京交通大學及同濟大學等客座教授，清華大學講席教授，國際交通及運輸理論大會(ISTTT)國際顧問委員會永久委員。目前，楊海教授擔任多份國際學術期刊的編委。他現在是國際交通運輸領域最具權威和認可度最高的學術期刊—Transportation ResearchPart B 的總編輯（是該期刊自1967年創刊以來的第三任主編）。
