Biography
Prof Chen, Director of the Design Stream, received his BS degree in IndustrialDesign from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, MS and Ph.D. degrees inIndustrial Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia, USA. He hasseveral years of product design & development experience in the industry.He has served as a technical reviewer for National Science and TechnologyAwards (Singapore), National Research Foundation of Korea, and a judge for PinUp Design Awards (Korea), an advisory board member (Singapore representative)of ISPE (International Society for Productivity Enhancement) and variousinternational conferences held in USA, Europe, China, Korea, Malaysia, HongKong and Taiwan. Prof Chen is Co-Editor-in-Chief of Advanced EngineeringInformatics (ADVEI), a SCI journal published by Elsevier (UK). Besides ADVEI,he is an editorial board member of Recent Patents on Engineering, Journal ofKansei, and Ambient Intelligence and Ergonomics. He is/was a Shanghai EasternScholar (appointed by Shanghai Maritime University as an Eastern ChairProfessor, 2011 – 2014), a Guest Professor of Tianjin University (since 2013),a Visiting Professor of National Cheng Kung University (2011), a GuestProfessor of Shanghai Maritime University (since 2006), and Chaoyang Universityof Technology (2008 – 2010)....
