講座摘要：Recent advances in science and technology have made modern networks more powerful and sophisticated than ever. The increasing level of sophistication and automation not only increases the complexity of these networked systems, but also increases the dependencies among components within these systems. As a result network reliability modeling and analysis become more challenging than ever. In this talk I will explain the use of reliability analysis for the purpose of robust and cost-effective network system design, followed by an introduction to several challenging research problems on reliability computing for modern networks, such as storage area networks, body area networks, and wireless sensor networks.

主講人簡介：

邢留冬教授，美國麻省大學(xué)達(dá)特茅斯分校教授,長期從事復(fù)雜系統(tǒng)可靠性建模與分析領(lǐng)域的基礎(chǔ)與應(yīng)用研究；發(fā)表期刊論文130余篇包括50余篇IEEE期刊論文，發(fā)表會(huì)議論文80余篇, 出版專著1部；曾主持多個(gè)美國國家科學(xué)基金項(xiàng)目，在可靠性工程領(lǐng)域國際頂級(jí)學(xué)術(shù)期刊IEEE Transactions on Reliability 擔(dān)任副編輯, Reliability Engineering & System Safety擔(dān)任編委和客座編輯，曾榮獲麻省大學(xué)達(dá)特茅斯分校2010年度優(yōu)秀學(xué)者稱號(hào)（全校每年僅一人）、 2011年度杰出女性獎(jiǎng)?wù)拢ㄈＣ磕陜H一人），以及2014年度最佳教師稱號(hào)（全校每年僅一人）。
