主要內容：SMU English teacher Graham Osborne is a journalist with a degree in Journalism from Queensland University of Technology. His lecture will outline the history of English language news media from the first newspaper published in 1665 through to online newspapers, blogs, podcasts and social media today. Since the advent of the internet, the methods of creating and receiving information have changed dramatically, but the essence of modern journalism is rooted in the past 500 years of print and more recently broadcast journalism. The lecture will chart the path of journalism from the Oxford Gazette to online English language papers like Shanghai Daily’s shine.cn.
