Title：Complement to a Proof of Discriminating Theorem on Center and Focus

Abstract：The discrimination of center and focus for planar differential system s is an important part in the study of qualitative theory of differential equations． However，we found that there is a gap in a proof of a theorem in this aspect which appears in more than ten textbooks published in recent 30 years．The aim of this paper is to complement the gap to the proof of the theorem．

?? 韓茂安，上海師范大學特聘教授、博士生導師，上海師范大學數理信息學院副院長、數學科學研究所所長。主要從事常微分方程與動力系統理論及應用研究，獲得一系列有重要學術價值的研究成果，建立了系統完整、特色突出的一般理論與方法。作為負責人主持完成5項國家自然科學基金項目，5項省部級基金項目，并入選2004年度教育部新世紀優秀人才培養計劃和2006年度上海市學優秀科帶頭人支持計劃；有7項研究成果獲得省部級科技進步獎，其中作為第一完成人獲得2002年度教育部科技進步獎一等獎；作為第一完成人獲得2006年度上海市自然科學獎二等獎。1992年獲得國務院政府特殊津貼，1994年被授予國家中青年有突出貢獻專家稱號。美國《數學評論》、德國《數學文摘》評論員、上海市非線性科學研究會副理事長、上海市數學會理事、國際SCI數學雜志《Disc. and Contin. Dyn. Sys.》(B) 及《Communication on Applied and Pure Analysis》編委等。目前已出版專著五部，與國內外合作者一起在國內外重要學術雜志發表論文200多篇。
