講座摘要：Recent advances in science and technology have made modern networks more powerful and sophisticated than ever. The increasing level of sophistication and automation not only increases the complexity of these networked systems, but also increases the dependencies among components within these systems. As a result network reliability modeling and analysis become more challenging than ever. In this talk I will explain the use of reliability analysis for the purpose of robust and cost-effective network system design, followed by an introduction to several challenging research problems on reliability computing for modern networks, such as storage area networks, body area networks, and wireless sensor networks.

主講人簡介：

邢留冬教授，美國麻省大學達特茅斯分校教授,長期從事復雜系統可靠性建模與分析領域的基礎與應用研究；發表期刊論文130余篇包括50余篇IEEE期刊論文，發表會議論文80余篇, 出版專著1部；曾主持多個美國國家科學基金項目，在可靠性工程領域國際頂級學術期刊IEEE Transactions on Reliability 擔任副編輯, Reliability Engineering & System Safety擔任編委和客座編輯，曾榮獲麻省大學達特茅斯分校2010年度優秀學者稱號（全校每年僅一人）、 2011年度杰出女性獎章（全校每年僅一人），以及2014年度最佳教師稱號（全校每年僅一人）。
