This talk will provide an intuitive introduction to the fundamentals of ML techniques, with an emphasis on the characteristics, classifications, and applications of the state-of-the-art ML techniques. Implementation of ML techniques will be also introduced in R language with examples. Anyone who is interested in machine learning, statistical learning, and data science could join.

專家簡介：Dr. Wenshuang Wang received her Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences from Mississippi State University. Dr. Wang is currently a ConocoPhillips Instructional Assistant Professor of Data Science at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Houston (UH). Prior to joining UH, Dr. Wang was a statistician at the Texas medical center in the Great Houston Area. Dr. Wang’s research interest includes Data Science in Healthcare and Energy for better decision making and quality improvement.
